ProMat Q&A with Agilox

Q&A with Brian Rix, VP of Sales North America | Agilox

Tell us about your company.

AGILOX is a global leader in Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), redefining material handling with intelligent, self-learning automation. Our mission is to revolutionize logistics with AMRs that are not only easy to use but also highly scalable, seamlessly adapting to changing workflows. Unlike traditional systems, AGILOX robots navigate autonomously, optimizing routes in real time for maximum efficiency. Founded in Austria in 2009, AGILOX has expanded its presence across Europe, North America, and Asia, with its U.S. headquarters in Alpharetta, GA.

Your company will be exhibiting at ProMat—why is this event important for you?

ProMat (and its counterpart, MODEX) is where the industry's decision-makers gather to solve real-world material handling challenges. As a company founded by material handling experts—not just robotics specialists—we focus on solutions that deliver tangible business impact. ProMat is the ideal platform to connect with industry leaders, showcase our latest innovations, and gain insights into where the market is heading, especially as automation becomes a central theme.

What makes your booth a must-visit for ProMat attendees?

For the first time ever, AGILOX will showcase four different AMR models operating simultaneously in a live tradeshow environment. Attendees will experience real-world automation in action—tight spaces, stacking, dynamic navigation, and human-machine collaboration—just like in an actual manufacturing facility.  They will be able to observe the unique omnidirectional driving dynamics of our AMRs that enable precise movement and navigation even in narrow aisle operations.

When you explore the exhibit hall yourself, what are you most excited to see?

We’re always eager to explore the latest advancements in AMRs and assess the competition. Beyond robotics, we’re particularly interested in compatible technologies such as conveyors and load carriers that enhance automation ecosystems.  We are constantly looking for additional applications where our AMR technology fits and compliments other automation methods and workflows.

Material handling is evolving rapidly with automation, robotics, and AI. How is AGILOX integrating AI to drive innovation?

AGILOX has been leveraging self-learning and self-adjusting software since the beginning—what we now recognize as early-stage AI. As AI technology advances, we’re expanding our swarm intelligence to include object and gesture detection, AI-driven process optimization, predictive maintenance, and digital twin technology. As an NVIDIA Inception Member, AGILOX is at the forefront of AI innovation and has been invited to present at NVIDIA GTC in San Jose (March 17-20).

What does the future hold for robotics and material handling?

The term "revolutionize" is often used—but even that may be an understatement. The future of robotics in material handling is all about maximizing efficiency, safety, flexibility, and ease of use. We’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible, and AGILOX is committed to leading the way.
