Megabots, Inc. Sends Giant Humanoid Robot Prototype To NYC For COMIC CON Debut

A larger-than-life robot built in Somerville, MA is headed to New York City for its debut at New York Comic Con.

A larger-than-life robot is taking shape in the Somerville area and it will embark on its first road trip from Boston, MA to New York City for its debut at New York Comic Con, one of the largest conventions on the East Coast.

The team at MegaBots, Inc. has been working on a 15-foot-tall, internally co-piloted, humanoid robot that packs 15,000 pounds of projectile-hurtling fury and is ready to reveal it to the world at the largest pop culture event on the East Coast.

"New York Comic Con is the perfect place to introduce the world to MegaBots," said Andrew Stroup, Co-Founder of MegaBots, Inc. "Its the largest pop culture event on the East Coast and one of the primary origins of giant fighting robots."

The robot will be displayed near the entrance of New York Comic Con. "Itll be fairly hard to miss us," said Co-Founder Gui Cavalcanti. "Youll stand in line, hand over your ticket, and then find yourself staring down the barrel of a robots cannon."

The team encourages anyone whos ever dreamed of seeing the giant robots of science fiction in reality join them at New York Comic Con.
