LUCID Expands its 3D Time-of-Flight Camera Family with the Helios™2 Narrow
Equipped with Sony’s IMX556 DepthSense sensor, the Helios2 Narrow features a more focused illumination to generate real-time 3D point cloud data with exceptional accuracy and reduced multipath interference. Its narrow 31° x 24° field of view (FoV) enables high-precision depth measurements, making it ideal for applications that require enhanced accuracy within a defined working range.
Richmond, BC, Canada - March 12, 2025 - LUCID Vision Labs, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative industrial vision cameras, is pleased to announce that the new Helios™2 Narrow 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera has entered series production and is now shipping.
Equipped with Sony's IMX556 DepthSense sensor, the Helios2 Narrow features a more focused illumination to generate real-time 3D point cloud data with exceptional accuracy and reduced multipath interference. Its narrow 31° x 24° field of view (FoV) enables high-precision depth measurements, making it ideal for applications that require enhanced accuracy within a defined working range.
The Helios2 Narrow maintains the same IP67-rated Factory Tough™ design as the standard Helios2 camera but is built for improved depth accuracy in space-constrained environments. With a narrower field of view, it is able to deliver enhanced precision and reliability for applications requiring exact measurements or when working space is limited. Optimized for target distances between 75 cm and 150 cm, the Helios2 Narrow ensures consistent performance in demanding industrial settings.
"LUCID's Helios2 ToF cameras continue to gain popularity due to their compact design, ease of use, and cost-effectiveness," says Rod Barman, Founder and President at LUCID Vision Labs. "With the Helios2 Narrow, we're expanding our 3D ToF camera family to address applications that demand exceptional depth accuracy and precision within a focused field of view."
LUCID's proprietary Arena SDK integrates user-friendly controls for all Helios2 ToF cameras. The ArenaView GUI enables users to visualize scene intensity and depth in either 2D or 3D point cloud views, offering real-time manipulation and orientation. Additionally, the software facilitates on-the-fly adjustments, including false color overlay and depth range modifications.
All LUCID cameras conform to the GigE Vision 2.0 and GenICam3 standards and are supported by LUCID's own Arena software development kit. The Arena SDK provides customers with easy access to the latest industry standards and software technology. The SDK is compatible with the Windows, Linux 64-bit, and Linux ARM operating systems, and supports the C, C++, C# and Python programming languages.
The Helios2 Narrow HTN003S-100 is list priced at $1,495 USD and is now available to order. For more information, please visit our Helios2 Narrow product page or contact Sales.
